Position Overview: School Administration Clerks (302 Positions)
Directorate: School Support
Salary Range: R216,417 – R254,928 (Level 05)
Qualifications and Requirements
Education:
Candidates must hold a Grade 12 certificate or an equivalent qualification.
Experience in administration or corporate services will be advantageous.
Skills:
Excellent customer service skills.
Proven ability to focus on and orient services toward clients.
Strong interpersonal skills, honesty, and integrity.
Basic proficiency in computer literacy and numeracy.
Solid written and verbal communication abilities.
Preference is given to applicants from the local area where the position is based.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
1. General Administrative Support:
Perform basic clerical tasks, including organizing, storing, capturing, and retrieving correspondence and data.
Regularly update registers and maintain accurate statistical records.
Handle routine inquiries from stakeholders.
Operate office equipment, such as photocopiers and fax machines, for communication and document distribution.
Assist in managing the filing system for the component.
Draft letters and correspondence as required.
2. Document Management:
Maintain incoming and outgoing document registers.
Distribute documents and packages to internal and external stakeholders.
3. Supply Chain Clerical Support:
Assist with the procurement of goods and services by liaising with stakeholders.
Obtain quotations and complete procurement documentation for standard office supplies.
Maintain stock control and oversee the office stationery inventory.
Keep an up-to-date asset register for the department or district office.
4. Personnel Administration:
Manage personnel records, including attendance and leave registers.
Arrange travel and accommodation for staff.
5. Financial Administration:
Capture and update expenditure data for the department.
Verify the correctness of travel and subsistence claims before submitting them for managerial approval.
Manage petty cash and telephone accounts for the office.
6. Education Data Management:
Capture and maintain accurate learner and educator data using the SASSAMS system.
