Position Overview: Facility Assistant – Sky Services
As a Facility Assistant working the night shift at DSV Sky Services, you will be an integral part of the company’s logistics operations, contributing to the seamless flow of goods and services in the warehouse. The role involves various warehouse duties, from loading and unloading shipments to maintaining inventory records and ensuring that safety and operational standards are met.

Main Purpose of the Role:
The Facility Assistant will be responsible for the general handling and management of goods within the warehouse, which includes tasks such as:

Loading and unloading shipments, including export and import items.
Ensuring that products are received and dispatched accurately, securely, and in good condition.
Conducting various warehouse-related activities to support logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
As a Facility Assistant, your core responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Loading and Unloading of Shipments:
You will be responsible for loading and unloading export and import shipments efficiently. This involves handling various goods and using equipment such as trolley jacks, forklifts, or manual labor, depending on the size and nature of the cargo.
Managing Shipments:
Recording all incoming deliveries and dispatches in the Goods Received Book and Dispatch Book to ensure accurate documentation.
Assisting with the preparation of outgoing shipments by carefully picking, packing, weighing, and labeling goods, ensuring everything is done according to specification.
Maintaining Cold Chain:
If the goods require refrigeration, you will be tasked with ensuring the cold chain is maintained by storing products in the designated cold room. The cold chain is critical for preserving perishable goods, and maintaining it will be a priority.
Equipment Inspections:
Conducting regular inspections of airline units and other equipment to ensure they are free from damages and fit for use. This helps maintain operational efficiency and safety in the warehouse.
Labor-Intensive Tasks:
The position involves physical labor, including heavy lifting and other strenuous activities, so it is essential to be physically fit and prepared for these demands.
Workplace Organization:
Keeping work areas clean, organized, and safe is a key responsibility. You will need to ensure that the warehouse is kept in order to comply with safety standards and operational efficiency.
Security Measures:
Assisting with maintaining the security of the warehouse is crucial. This could involve monitoring security procedures and ensuring goods are stored safely and securely.
Inspection and Quality Control:
Identifying defective items in the warehouse and reporting them as necessary. Ensuring that all goods are in proper condition before they are shipped or stored is an essential part of the role.
