The Department of Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to join their team at South Rand Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing elementary clinical
nursing practices, assisting patients with daily activities, and promoting quality nursing care.To be considered for this role, applicants must have a qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as an Assistant Nurse and be registered with SANC. No experience is required, but the candidate must demonstrate an elementary understanding of nursing legislation and related legal and ethical nursing practices.
The duties of this role include:
– Performing elementary clinical nursing practices in accordance with the scope of practice and nursing standards
– Assisting patients with activities of daily living
– Promoting quality of elementary nursing care as directed by the professional scope of practice and standards
– Demonstrating basic communication with patients, supervisors, and other clinicians
– Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure good nursing care
– Working effectively and cooperatively with people of diverse backgrounds
– Displaying a concern for patients and promoting elementary care
