Afrimat Quarrying South Africa (Pty) Ltd is seeking two General Workers to join their team at Tygerberg Quarry. The successful candidates will be responsible for assisting with daily pre-start inspection checks, general maintenance tasks, cleaning spillages, and adhering to health and safety standards.
To be considered for this role, applicants must have a Grade 12 qualification and/or experience in a similar environment.
They must be literate, functionally numerate, and possess basic knowledge of machinery. The ability to work under pressure, be self-disciplined, and work without supervision is essential. Applicants must also be able to work within a team, assist with manual labor and plant maintenance, and stand for long periods.
The duties and responsibilities of this role include:
– Assisting with daily pre-start inspection checks
– Assisting with general maintenance tasks on or around the plant under supervision
– Cleaning all spillages according to safety guidelines
– Adhering to all Health and Safety Standards to ensure safe working practices
– Assisting with screen changes
– Reporting any general elementary problems to the immediate Supervisor on site
– Attending to any other ad hoc duties as requested
