Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Hygiene Attendant to join our team in Harrismith. As a Hygiene Attendant, you will play a critical role in maintaining high hygienic standards in our processing areas, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and supporting our 5S initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
– Remove waste from processing areas and dispose of it properly
– Clean and maintain vacuum cleaners, cleaning tools, and equipment
– Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
– Monitor and maintain Air Handling Units (AHU) and clean AHU units/rooms as scheduled
– Support safety programs by managing cleaning chemicals and disposal
– Conduct safety inspections on machines and equipment
– Support food safety initiatives, including pest management and rework management
– Participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities
– Perform additional duties as assigned by the Team Leader or Food Safety Specialist
Responsibilities in Detail:
– Clean and sanitize processing areas, including floors, walls, and equipment
– Operate cleaning equipment, such as scrubbers and vacuum cleaners
– Inspect processing areas for cleanliness and report any issues to the Team Leader
– Monitor and maintain cleaning schedules and records
– Support the implementation of 5S initiatives to maintain a clean and organized work environment
– Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure compliance with food safety regulations
– Participate in training programs to stay up-to-date with industry best practices
Requirements:
– Matric with Maths and Science
– At least 1 year of experience in a similar role
– Basic understanding of microbiology
– Knowledge of safety regulations
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
– Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
– Excellent communication and teamwork skills
