Network and Server Administrator Position Overview

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience and knowledge in an ICT environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting and maintaining computer systems, servers, and network infrastructure.
  • Preferred certifications include ITIL, MSCE, N+, A+, etc., although not mandatory.
  • Background or exposure to cybersecurity is beneficial.

Key Accountabilities

  • Offer technical assistance to end users concerning hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Ensure optimal functionality of network components such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Assist in the setup, maintenance, and administration of servers, including capacity planning.
  • Monitor and manage access to the Corporation’s computer systems, servers, and network.
  • Utilize automated tools to monitor the health and performance of computer systems, servers, and network.
  • Perform backups of critical systems and data, and test disaster recovery plans for business continuity.
  • Coordinate with service providers and contractors for cybersecurity, connectivity, and hosting services.
  • Regularly patch firmware and software to mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Assist in implementing cybersecurity controls with the Information Security and Governance Analyst.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and changes.
  • Administer and support tickets logged on the ICT service desk.
  • Provide monthly reports on service desk, computer systems, server, and network performance.
