Role Purpose:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contract Grower Coordinator to join our team at Rainbow Chicken. As a Contract Grower Coordinator, you will play a critical role in driving broiler performance with our contract growers, ensuring the optimal number of high-quality birds at the right time and at the lowest cost. You will manage commercial relationships with growers and stakeholders, provide technical expertise, and support our customers and growers.
Key Responsibilities:
– Operations Management: Conduct operational planning, manage contract grower relationships, and ensure optimal production at the lowest possible cost.
– Information and Data Management: Analyze livestock growth performance, provide technical advice, and maintain accurate records.
– Budget and Cost Control: Provide technical support to meet budgetary targets, manage capex requirements, and implement approved technical programs.
– Administration: Ensure accurate and prompt data capture, submit comprehensive reports, and monitor utility meter readings.
– Leadership: Coach and support team members, manage employee relations, and ensure corrective action is taken when required.
– Bio-Security Management: Apply bio-security standards, ensure cleanout and housekeeping, and support contract growers with bio-security measures.
– Customer Service Management: Drive technical customer service, ensure compliance with national best practices, and support farm visits and technical meetings.
– Financial Management: Liaise with supply planners and commercial teams, implement cost-cutting initiatives, and drive budgeted operational costs.
Requirements:
– Matric
– Degree or diploma in Agriculture (3 years)
– Valid Code EB driver’s license
– Minimum 5 years relevant experience in a similar environment, with 2-3 years in a supervisory capacity
– Poultry production knowledge, including breeder and broiler management
– Agricultural and farm operations knowledge
– ISO and health, safety, and environmental legislation knowledge
– National best practice standards knowledge
– SHERQ Systems knowledge
– Broiler technical expertise
– Budget planning and cost management skills
