Transport Administrator FTC 6 Months: A Key Role in International Logistics

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Administrator FTC 6 months at our Durban office.
Job Overview
As a Transport Administrator, you will play a critical role in our international logistics team, responsible for managing transport costing, data capturing, and communication with third-party service providers, internal staff, and management.
This fixed-term contract position offers a unique opportunity to work with a dynamic team and gain valuable experience in the logistics industry.
Key Responsibilities
Handle transport data capturing in Cargowise
– Calculate and complete transport costing as per individual client agreed transport rates
– Prepare costings for invoice-out import files and ensure all third-party charges are accounted for
– Ensure transport and depot/warehouse charges are recovered
– Update transport costing statistics
– Resolve logistics financial queries on time
– Communicate clearly with third parties
and senior team members
– Consult regularly with import client controllers regarding problematic shipping documents or queries
Requirements and Skills
– Matric and logistics-related post-matric training (advantageous)
– At least 2 years of experience in transport logistics, preferably imports
– Sound knowledge of seafreight, import procedures, and documentation
– Understanding of logistics and transport costs
Mathematical acumen to work with figures
– Thorough working knowledge of shipping documents
– Experience working with Excel and Word documents
– Strong interpersonal and communication skills
– Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
– Good general computer literacy skills, knowledge of Cargo Wise (beneficial)
– Fluency in written and spoken English
