Requirements :
Grade 12 or equivalent Certificate. Relevant qualification in Food Service Aid will be an added advantage. A minimum of 0-2 years’ experience in Food Service Department. Basic literacy and basic numeracy skills. Ability to perform routine tasks, Ability to operate kitchen equipment.
Good verbal and written communication skills, Good interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure. Sound Interpersonal relations.
Duties :
Perform routine tasks in the Food Service unit and operate machinery and Food service equipment. Perform all tasks related to operation, cooking and serving of food to staff and visitors during meetings, exams etc.
Perform cleaning tasks to ensure hygiene and safety standards are maintained in the kitchen (washing of dishes pots, floors, pans, crockery, cutlery, tablecloths, utensils, shelves and fridges). Taking out dustbins and waste and cleaning/sanitizing of dustbins.
In compliance with DPSA Circular 19 of 2022 certifying documents/qualifications will only be requested from shortlisted candidates on or before the interview process (Applicants are not required to submit copies of qualification and other relevant documents on the application but must submit the new Z83 and detailed Curriculum Vitae).
Please make sure that the correct reference number is reflected on the Z83 application form. Employment history must reflect the complete calendar date (e.g. 01 April 2017) on the C.V. State all your competencies, training, and knowledge in your CV. Employment references must be Supervisors. It is the applicant’s responsibility to have foreign qualifications evaluated by the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA).
The successful candidate will be subjected to Pre-employment Medical Surveillance conducted by the Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner (OHNP). Incomplete applications or applications received after the closing date will not be considered. Control of food production in the stores and kitchen. Ordering of supplies, control of storage and issuing thereof. Do all general work allocated by the supervisor.
