The successful candidate will be part of the Valuations Analyst team within the Financial Services Advisory group of Deloitte South Africa. As a Valuation Analyst, the successful candidate will provide support to business area leaders in implementing strategies through effective team management. In addition, the incumbent will provide key understanding and guidance in quantitative modelling processes for valuations, strategic, and risk projects.
Specific duties and responsibilities:
- Provide assistance with the creation, automation, as well as validation of risk and financial models
- Conduct statistical analysis e.g. segmentation and clustering
- Apply numerical valuation methods e.g. exotic structures and derivatives, including yield curve construction
- Support the development of market thought leadership and leading solutions; establishing strong client relations
- General problem-solving
- Report to the manager leading the team and those heading individual projects
Who should apply?
Candidates will need to meet the following minimum qualification requirements to apply:
- Holds a Master’s degree (MSc, MPhil, or Com) or Honours degree in the following fields:
- MSc in Quantitative Risk Analysis or Risk Management
- BSc Hons Quantitative Risk Management
- BSc Hons Actuarial and Financial Mathematics
- BSc Hons Financial Engineering
- BSc Hons in Advanced Math or Finance, or BSc is Statistics and Mathematics
- BSc Hons in Actuarial science
- BSc Hons in Applied Economics or Econometrics
- BSc Hons in Computer Science, Data Science, or Analytics
- BSc Hons in Mathematical Science or Statistics
- BSc Hons in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic, Electrical
- BSc Hons in Financial or Applied Economics
- BSc in Physics
- Highly effective interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
- Possesses technical expertise and willingness to grow skills and improve knowledge
- Works well within a team environment
- Able to come up with breakthrough solutions to complicated and often uncommon challenges
- Possesses the flexibility to adapt to changing environments and requirements
